If there’s one thing that I’m doing more of with my clothes – particularly during the chaos and confusion caused by the pandemic as well as the dangerous print left from ‘fast fashion’ – it’s rewearing.
A few years ago I made a conscious effort to stop buying cheap (buy cheap buy twice and all that...) clothes and instead, I’ve been buying what I truly love, investing more and taking better care of my things. Case in point, the Frankie Shop Ripstock Quilted Jacket.
Now I have to admit, when I bought this I fully expected it to be a trend piece. Deep down I hoped it would make a come back but I was a bit nervous (given the obvious oversized style and shape) that it was a pricey one-season item. As with all of my expensive clothes though, I knew there would be a high re-sale price should I want to sell it on. That said, I’m thrilled to see I’m not the only one pulling this insane jacket out of storage and rewearing again for the Autumn/Winter ’22. What a great investment!
If you didn’t manage to grab yourself The Frankie Shop Quilted Ripstock Jacket last year, don’t worry, because it’s finally back in two new chic colourways – and an updated style; the Teddy. Same statement quilting and large pockets as the Ripstop but with upgrades and a slightly different fit.
What makes it special?
What is it about this jacket?
Aside from being iconic and being available in beautiful Autumnal hues, the jacket is the perfect transitional season jacket. It might be thermal (keeping you cool/warm as needed) but it the perfect layering piece for the in-between seasons.
It’s super easy to style if you follow the basic rules – keep the clothing plain and simple with a statement bag or shoe.
