Sartorial Era

I remember the day I fell out of love with formal blazers. Ok, strong statement and what I really mean is that once there was a day where I got really annoyed and vowed never to wear any kind of ‘workwear’ again.
I was working for a women’s monthly magazine at the time, many years ago, and had been pulled in to a room by a manager for a very curt telling-off for not wearing heels. Yes, very 1990 I know. The magazine was all about empowering women and modern fashion but my £300 lace up brogues with my oversized man repeller suit (that I’d felt inspired to buy when reading the very mag I was working for) were not impressing her. Despite 90% of the editorial team in flats. I felt so frustrated that I started looking for a new job the very same day.
Bringing the story up to date however, I still like to do my own take on formal wear. I still love an oversized black blazer (my prized one is one I bought 3 months pregnant in a size 20) and you already know how obsessed I am with this white one. For this look I found a linen blend blazer and paired with my comfy Topshop trousers, a vest and a Staud bag. Teamed with Kurt Geiger heels (of course).
